If your skip is going to be placed on private land or property that you own, such as a driveway or yard, you do not need to worry about a skip permit, as one will not be required.
However, a skip permit will be required if the skip is placed in a public area or on land that does not belong to you, such as a road or public space.
You do not need a permit if the skip will be placed entirely on private property, such as your driveway or garden. However, if you do not own the land, additional permissions from the owner are required. Please ensure that the ground is protected.
We can take care of permits for you. Please note that we cannot deliver skips onto grass verges, kerbs, or pathways unless special grant permissions are in place.
How to Obtain a Skip Permit:
· We Can Arrange It for You: We can handle the permit application process with your local council on your behalf for an additional fee. This ensures all requirements are met, saving you time and hassle.
Permit Duration and Cost:
· The permit cost varies depending on the local council. The permit duration varies across councils and depends on local restrictions on public highways.
· If you need the skip for a longer period, you may need to renew the permit, which may incur additional charges.
Important Notes:
· Safety Requirements: Councils have specific requirements, such as ensuring the skip container is lit during the hours of darkness. We can offer skip lights at an additional cost.
· Penalties: Placing a skip on public land without a permit may result in fines or enforcement action from the council.
If you’re unsure whether you need a permit or need help arranging one, please contact our customer service team, and we’ll be happy to assist!
Payment can be made securely online using credit/debit cards. You will receive a confirmation email once your booking and payment are processed.

To ensure a smooth and safe skip delivery, please follow the steps below:
Choose a Suitable Location
Decide where the skip will be placed — this could be on your driveway, private land, or, if necessary, a public road.
Check Permit Requirements
If the skip is going on public land (like a road), you will need a skip permit from your local council. No permit is needed if the skip is placed entirely on private property.
Ensure Adequate Space
There should be enough room for both the skip to be located and the delivery vehicle to access and manoeuvre safely.
Select the Right Size
Choose a skip size appropriate for the volume and type of waste you’ll be disposing of. Review the skip sizes and the suitable waste that can be placed in them all.
Check Access Routes
Confirm that the delivery vehicle can reach the skip location without obstructions such as narrow entrances, low-hanging branches, or overhead power lines.
Prepare the Ground
The area should be flat, stable, and able to support the weight of a skip and delivery lorry.
- If placing the skip on soft ground, consider using protective boards or sheeting.
- Avoid placing skips over manholes, drains, or sewers — these structures may not be able to withstand the weight and could be damaged.
- Choose a solid, reinforced surface wherever possible to avoid damage to your property.
Avoid Visibility Obstructions
Place the skip where it won’t block your view when entering or exiting your property.
Keep the Area Clear
Ensure that the space is free from vehicles or other obstacles on the day of delivery.
Be Available
Having someone on-site to guide the driver and confirm skip placement is helpful. If no one will be present, please provide clear instructions in advance to avoid delays or misplacement
